Backfire while driving

When I drive with my Savage and I twist off the accelerator slow, I get a big backfire everytime.
Itīs not possible to decrease the speed without this backfire.
What can I do?
I have also a repair instruction, they describe a screw for the mixture of the backlash, but there is no?

I own a model of the year 1996.
